South Mountain Park Campground and RV Resort in Kentville, Nova Scotia
Account photo "Great spot!"......   We spent 5 nights there this summer and absolutley loved it. Yeah, the sights may be a bit small but the staff and campers we met were number 1! There was a bit of a cock-up in our reservation but the issue was resolved without drama. The seasonal folks were fantastic and we have made some new friends. The pool is large and clean. The bathrooms are immaculate. We'll be back for sure...

Loch Lomond Tent and Trailer Park in Amherst, Nova Scotia
Account photo "Loch Lomond - not missing a monstor"......   stayed once - never again. Rude owners/staff - how they remain in business is anyone's guess. We booked for one night but left 3 hours after check-in. After contacting the NS Dept of Tourism, it was quickly determined that they didn't care either. It was only through CAA that we obtained our refund.

Beausejour Camping in Shédiac, New Brunswick
Account photo "Beausejour was not a good experience"......   After reserving two specific 3-way hook-up sites, we arrived and were told that they had two "better" sites for us. Not the case at all - the new sites were washed out from a previous rain storm. We did however, manage to watch the two sites we originally booked, remain vacant all weekend. The owner couldn't have cared less. Too bad - an otherwise nice campground is mis-managed and rude to campers. WE WON'T BE BACK and we don't refer people to there.

Account photo "Never again!"......   Let me tell ya, they are so rude! Rude doesnt even describe it. I will never go back, even though the kids loved it, they have no people skills, and yes they will put water on your camp fire at 11.. like come on. I would not recommend this camp ground! if you hear the golf cart coming.. get ready for bed, cause fun time is over.

Natures Hideaway Family Campground in De Winton, Alberta
Account photo "COMPLETELY HORRIBLE! WOULD NEVER RETURN"......   Completely horrible! Rude, aggressive management. Maximum security prison type rules. Campground in general is very run-down, very small sites, most are gravel and large rocks, no privacy at all. They definitely seem more focused on permanent residents rather than repeat local customers. The dump station is $10 + GST and is located five feet from the playground, does not smell good at all and I would not let my children play there. One person who only stayed one night was verbally attacked upon leaving, the elderly man reached in her car to snatch her car tag and demanded to know who she was, what site she was from, and where did she think she was going. Supposed management emailed us later that day to demand an apology, Would have thought 'management' would have simply came to our site to speak with us regarding this he said she said business between a paying customer and an employee if it was such an issue rather than send a rude email. Washrooms are locked at 11pm so if you are in a tent just be forewarned, it's a long time to wait until morning! Absolutely no music, no matter how quiet it is, after 11pm. And yes, they patrol regularly all day and night long via golf cart. DO NOT WASTE ANY MONEY HERE!

Dinosaur Trail R.V. Resort in Drumheller, Alberta
Account photo "Great/terrible"......   This campsite was set up wonderfully, but some of the staff were abrupt. The people camped beside us had security come by and hassle them twice about their kids when we couldn't even hear them right beside us. After that, I found the security golf cart rounds kind of intimidating. We made our kids play in the trailer.

Account photo "never again!!!"......   the owner and his wife are just money hungry tyrants!!!! The sites are extremely small and everyone is crammed together, the place is not well kept and the garbage was piling over! The shower was surprisingly very clean. they offered a few activities for kids but the go karts were very overpriced!!! the mini putt was old and run down and had not much to offer. the pool had not been cleaned in the 3 days that we were there because they were dirty bandaids that kept floating around for all 3 days. the owner is a real grump and i was thankful to just leave, i will never recommend to anyone!!

Camping Stoneham in Stoneham, Québec
Account photo "Nice camping ground overall"......   We stayed here for 1 week. The bathrooms were not too great, toilets blocked and even overflowed. The showers cost 25 cent per minute and my first shower was cold. The pool area was nice but the pools are not heated and my kids found it cold. Wonderful rivers all around, bring your small blow up boats and mattresses to float down the rivers. Great campsites by the river. The best campsites are for non-service sites(tents),they are big, shaded and right on the river. The best one seemed to be 37. As for the sites with 2 services, none were very private, they are small, the best one seemed to be 161. The campground is well kept overall and the services were good. Good family camping and just a short drive to Quebec city.

Yogi Bears Jellystone Park and Camp-resort in Bradford, Ontario
Account photo "Worst place to camp "......   The place is NOT what it looks like online. If you love the highway right beside you, go here. - They overcharge you for EVERYTHING. To ride the gocarts they have is $20 and UP for 30 mins. - The pool was small and murky. The only thing that was good about it was the pool. - The staff were very young, totally uninterested in being there or even having a summer job and just rode around on their golf carts all day. - The mini putt is TINY and costs upwards of $15 per person for one game. - The activities for kids are okay but when we visited on a Friday, they had a school bus arrive of 70+ Boys & Girls club members who took over the entire activities 'barn' so people that actually paid to stay at the campsite couldn't join in. Those kids were bullying other campers children and were overcrowding the pool (the only good feature about the place). - When we arrived, we wanted to make sandwiches for lunch - they have NO food other than candy, uncooked hot dogs and chocolate bars in the store - you had to drive far into Bradford to get anything else. The store was large but totally stocked with just Yogi Bear Jellystone paraphernalia & souvenirs (stuffed animals, etc.). - The sites were not nice looking. - The only part that was nice was the pool and the washrooms which had air conditioning and nice showers. Other than that we would not recommend anyone coming here. - The sites are VERY close together, no privacy whatsoever - maybe 3 feet between each camper/trailer. No trees. No shade. The place is huge but they've decided to put big wood piles at the end of the road with tarps over them instead of spacing out the campsites to provide some privacy. It's ridiculous how tiny the place is when you actually see it. It fits a large number of campers, but in very cramped, closed quarters. - Needless to say we left after ONE day and had our other 2 days refunded. - We are a family with 3 children ages 2 to 10 yrs old and they did not enjoy themselves - so if children don't have fun, what's the point of having a place like this mentioned in every Toronto-GTA area coupon magazine? It's a total ripoff! They kept bothering us to buy tickets to Canada's Wonderland from them. If we wanted to go to Wonderland we would have - we came to have family memories and camp!

Account photo We went to this campround on the 15th of July and planed on staying until Sunday the 18th until my husband tryed to leave to go work. When he got to the exit it was blocked by the owners truck, he had no way of getting out. Then he was confronted by the owners and asked where he was going, he said to work. That is when she asked him what lot he was on and then sent out her husband who was holding a sign saying you cant leave until 7:30 or you are going to be fined $100.00 dollars.Well my husband sat there while this guy was shoving this sign in his face through the window of the car. My husband didnt say a word to them he just wanted to go to work. Then I was wokened up bay the owner Effy, she began to tell me how rude my husband was and I didnt know what to think, they didnt tell me how rude they were to him thou and then she told me that she wanted the lot cleared out. Well I was shock I didnt know what to thing of it all. We all came in two cars, I had four kids and my grand daughter with me and had to pack them all in one car plus a 12' popup. I camped at this campgound before but never ever thought that they were like that at all. Very very rude and heartless people. If you like being locked in and not aloud to leave a campgound, go to this one!!!

Account photo "One word...Disgusting"......   Do not bring your family to this campground. It is only suitable for young partiers who will be too intoxicated to take in their surroundings. The campsites are filthy. The staff extremely rude. The prices exhorbitant. A complete train wreck of a camping experience. Dangerous playground, terrible customer service. A rip off. This resort is the best kept secret because anyone who gets sucked into staying here will be too embarrassed to admit the disaster they suffered through. It's like being held hostage in a trailer park in the Ozarks.

Jell-E-bean Campground Ltd in Wasaga Beach, Ontario
Account photo Spent many years as a seasonal resident and it was great. We left the park 8 yrs ago. Went back camping there in 2010 and it was absolutely horrible and unpleasant experience. We had reserved a site a month before our camping date and when we arrived we found out that they gave out lot to someone else. They claim to have hay rides, but that is only if the tractor can start. We were told repeatedly that campfires werent to be higher than the rim. The staff would drive past our lot every 20 min and harrass our family. Activities that were offered were over advertised. The park used to be very well kept but now standards are poor and the staff has the same low standards. This year we are taking our camping trips else where.

Account photo "Awesome upgrades and changes!"......   I've been a seasonal camper here for 10 years. Over the past 2 years the campground has gone through a wonderful transformation through the new owner. Additions include a rec hall, new pool, jumping pillow, playground facilities, wiresless internet, upgraded electricity, sewer and water, new laundry facilities, new office, lots have been increased in size, and many new seasonal lots have been created. And, there's more on the way. Thanks to the new owner for all you've done!

Sandbanks Campground in Picton, Ontario
Account photo "Great campsites and beaches!"......   This year (2010) was our first time at Sandbanks and we loved it! This provincial park is H-U-G-E and the beaches (we counted three) are well kept and inviting. The water wasn't as clean as we had hoped but we were told that this was due to a recent storm and very hot weather. The Dunes beach is the best of all for families with young kids(trees provide some shade, the water is shallow and kids love to climb up and down 20-30 feet high sand dunes). Note however that there are NO LIFEGUARDS at the beaches (this is the first provincial park we visit that doesn't have lifeguards). With regards to campsites, they are top-notch! Well groomed with plenty of space (on most sites, it's even hard to see your neighbours ). Facilities are fairly good too. At night, it's just magical to see all those campfires lighting up the forest!

Account photo Excellent campground near every thing you need. The kids enjoyed it but the rules are a little to "military". For example teenagers must be at their own site by 11:00pm even if they are being quiet and no bikes and scooters from dusk on. As well way too many seasonal campers. It appears that everybody is in bed by 11:00pm. All visitors have to pay $3 each.

Albion Hills Campground in Palgrave, Ontario
Account photo My family went to Albion every year for approx 20 years until last year. Very poor service from the campground staff. The company seems much more interested in revenue they can gain from the mountain biking and the occasional wedding rather than the families who come up to camp. Last year they closed down the lake and were in the process of building a "water facility" of sorts. I've yet to see it but from what I can gather it is only appropriate for small children. We're not the type of ppl who goes camping to drink beer all day and sit on our campsite...so without the option to swim it's kind of pointless. Also, I really hate that they paved all of the little side roads leading to the campsites as opposed to leaving it as dirt/gravel roads. They don't take care of the land either...about 5 years ago there was a tree that fell into the creek and died... as of 2 years ago it was still there...why leave this gross looking dead tree...it's not preservation at that point...it's just lazy! Another thought, they USED to offer arts and crafts or movies etc. in the chalet especially during any rainy times (for the kids)...they haven't done this for years and I think it would be a good idea to get back to it.

Twin Shores Camping Area in Kensington, Prince Edward Island
Account photo "One of the Nicest Campgrounds in Canada!"......   Twin Shores is one of the nicest campgrounds my family and I have ever camped at. This campground has 2 private beaches on the property. The main ocean beach has what one local mentioned "best beach on the Island". The campground is located at the end of a point surrounded by water on 3 sides and the scenery is to die for. We stayed at the national park in Cavendish which was recommended to us but were told to check this place out when we filled up for gas. We are glad we did. Its a large park (bring your bike) but many sites offer complete privacy from your neighbors. They have activities going on throughout the day like movies, hayrides, and mussle boils. The facilities are clean and modern. If your headed to P.E.I. this is the place to go!
